Doneraile Court

My Gran (Doggy Granny) was born a St Leger, with links to the Irish St Leger family. For those with an interest in horse racing, a distant member of the St Leger started the St Leger Stakes, one of the five “Classic” races in the English horse racing calendar, open to three year old thoroughbred colts and fillies. I will go one day.

The St Leger family home was Doneraile Court in the village of Doneraile, County Cork, Ireland.

On our Ireland travels we stopped off in Doneraile for a look see.

View from the front door with a few deer up the hill for dinner.

Stable yard for a flat white and lemon drizzle cake – Roxy insisted 😉

Kel was suitably disappointed not having married into the main line of St Legers.
